With three of those engines, the Ford has an advantage over both available engines of the Ram 2500. The standard 6.4L HEMI® V8 engine of the Ram delivers up to 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. If you opt for the Ram 2500’s available 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel I-6 engine, the truck only reaches 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. What does that mean for you?

The Ford F-250 has more power than the Ram 2500. You’ll have greater acceleration and be able to handle larger payloads and heavier trailers because of its engine strength.

When it comes to towing, the Ford F-250 has a maximum tow rating of 23,000 pounds when properly equipped, overcoming the 19,990 pounds the Ram provides.

The bed of the F-250 can also handle a bit more weight, as the vehicle has a maximum available payload of 4,268 pounds when properly equipped compared to the 4,000 pounds you’d get with the Ram.
